And then she smiles, like it’s the first time she’s seen the sun after a decade of winters.
It’s so easy to get frustrated. And sad. And angry.
At yourself. At your body. At timing. At anything.
I posted a photo on Instagram of this rushing river early Monday morning near where my husband and I went camping over the weekend. As I was looking at it I kept thinking about where all that water came from to fill it up – to make it rush and swirl and move the way that it does.
Take me back to Friday morning where I was in tears from frustration of the lack of things happening. I’m not ashamed or embarrassed about feeling these things because I am an emotional person. Feeling things and letting them move through you is just as important as experiencing the good things.
What I was able to realize on Monday when I was looking at that river was invaluable.
I spend so much time thinking about the things I want to happen that I sometimes forget about everything that I have already done. Balancing my hormones, learning to really breathe, using yoga to help with fertility, cutting out caffeine, the 21 day holistic eating and living journey…those are all H U G E feats in my life. Massive accomplishments that I need to celebrate and recognize more often. Patience is one of the hardest parts of this journey but I promise, if you’re dedicated and really making an effort to help nourish your body, good things will start to happen and you’ll notice changes you never thought you could achieve naturally. Your body has spent years (maybe even decades) in the same state, so it really takes a patient and a gentle approach to get things to move, flow and change.
No matter where you are on your journey take some time to be in awe of your own body. And if you aren’t where you want to be, know that you have the power to change that feeling.
