ON A LIGHTER NOTE!
We’ve reached 22.5 weeks.
HELLO BUMP HEAVEN!
This is what I’ve been waiting for! Over the weekend I spent a little time finding some dreamy form fitting t-shirts, leggings and big comfy sweaters to stay warm in this freezing weather. There’s nothing better ( in my opinion ) than getting to show off your delicious belly!
I am not the biggest fan of colour ( despite being a Textile Designer, or maybe because I am!) so I tend to stick to neutrals when it comes to clothing. Probably my favourite brand so far for tops is Isabella Oliver. I scooped up one of her ‘Maternity Cap Scoop T-shirts’ and immediately felt secure and sexy. Up to this point I’ve relied on my own longer fitted tanks and t-shirts to do the trick but I was getting into an awkward crop top situation and felt like I could use a few bump appropriate pieces!
In the pant department, I won’t lie, I embraced maternity jeans pretty much immediately at 16 weeks. Jeff says I swore to him a year ago that I would never wear anything ‘over the bump’ but I obviously had no idea how good they were going to feel. We don’t have the most incredible options in Canada but I did find H + M to have some great easy black leggings, otherwise, Hatch Collection has a pair of ‘Tuxedo Leggings’ that were too irresistible not to get. They aren’t ‘over the bump’ but they fit so snug and so nicely that I decided to splurge on them. My other go to is Topshop online – one of my favourite pairs of pants pre-pregnancy is a pair of simple black jeans from Topshop so you can imagine how excited I was to find that they carried it in a maternity style! Topshop as far as I know doesn’t carry the ‘over the bump’ style but their belly bands are easy enough to roll down when your bump gets big enough.
BELLY BUTTON: About to welcome itself to the other side of the world any moment now.
SLEEP: Vivid dreams. S O M A N Y V I V I D W E I R D D R E A M S.
MOVEMENT: Last week the baby was moving so much I filmed it and sent it to my sister. It was like a wild little show being put on just for us! I love love love feeling any kind of movement. It makes me smile every time.
FAVOURITE MOMENT THIS PAST WEEK: Hearing baby’s SUPER STRONG heartbeat with the Midwives last Tuesday morning. I’m feeling stronger and stronger that our baby can heal that potential hole.
