Ladies, meet Nicole.
I stumbled upon Nicole’s Instagram feed a few months back and was immediately attracted to her message. Like me, she was diagnosed with PCOS and like me, was told by her doctor that she was going to a have a long, challenging road to baby making. To really hit things home, there was no discussion of anything natural, just an immediate solution of hormone therapy (birth control and a medication to stimulate ovulation) to remedy the situation. Nicole wasn’t even ready at that point to make babies, she just wanted to hear some positivity that when she was ready, it wasn’t going to be this tragic ending that her doctors were making her believe.
Nicole has always had a interest in natural health and wellness, in particular, after studying Holistic Nutrition. What amazed me the most about Nicole, was that when she was diagnosed with PCOS she took things into her own hands and decided to fight it on her own, naturally. She decided to forgo what the doctors told her and not take any of the medications and just try to heal her own body through food, herbs and lifestyle changes. Sound familiar? It’s no wonder that I was attracted to this beauty!
I reached out to Nicole because I wanted to share her story and positivity with all of you. I sometimes feel like I make it look like I was the only one who did this. Like I was the only one who really didn’t want to accept what my fertility doctors were telling me in regards to PCOS. I was so excited to meet another woman with the strength and courage to really nurture themselves back to fertile goodness!
Nicole is a true gem and is available as a health and wellness coach for a variety of things but her speciality is infertility and pregnancy. She has an incredible line of locally made herbs and supplements for those of you looking for something natural to help boost you on your road to baby making! Although she’s based in LA, she is available for phone and Skype consultations for anyone not living in the US. Nicole’s services for helping women with PCOS through natural medicine can be done anywhere in the world which I love. Although her herbs are not available to ship outside the US, she is totally comfortable working with other like minded products that are accessible where ever you are. Check out Nicole’s website to learn a little bit more.

LFJ: What are you most passionate about in the world of infertility and PCOS?
Nicole: There are so many things that I am passionate about when it comes to this subject but I would have to say the biggest one is how possible it is for women to go through this battle naturally. I don’t believe women are given all of their options and that makes me the most upset. I speak with women across the country that are on medications and feel worse and don’t believe they have a choice. They believe they need to accept this illness and accept being over weight, infertile and depressed. It makes me terribly sad to hear women doubting themselves and their potential to fight this disorder because of a lack of information!
LFJ: What are some things women can do who are starting to think about coming off birth control / getting pregnant?
Nicole: The number one thing to focus on when coming off birth control is hormonal balance. Hormones are everything to women, how we balance those hormones naturally is so important. Nourishing food, supplements, water and healthy fats are key!
LFJ: What are you most excited about in coming out with your line of herbs? Tell us a bit about them!
Nicole: I am most excited to put my line out there because it is giving women options that are so necessary, starting from a healthy detox to a fertility focused blend to an everyday maintenance for overall healthy and vitality. These products are beautifully designed with so much love. I am excited to put a product line like this on the market that is pure, natural and made locally. Each blend focuses on a different part of the body targeting the over all issue instead of masking it! I especially love the Super Detox!
LFJ: What sparked your interest in specializing in infertility and pregnancy in regards to nutrition?
Nicole: I have always said I was born to be a mother and that I would be the healthiest pregnant woman! I believe in nutrition and food as a cure. I believe that our lifestyle, food and emotions have everything to do with our health. From the books I have read to the woman I have spoken to, these stories are real. One of my most memorable moments was when I was about 17 and this woman was probably 8 months pregnant drinking a diet coke. All I could think was “does she know how bad that is or does she have no idea?” I think that educating people about nutrition and lifestyle is key if we want to see any kind of change in the area of PCOS and infertility. My interests for this area of nutrition came in so many different forms but overall I was inspired by women and motherhood.
LFJ: What are some of your favourite ‘fertility boosting foods’?
Nicole: Oh where to start! I love Royal Jelly, Maca Root, Raw Cacao, Avocados and Noni Juice.
LFJ: Give us an example of some of the things you might suggest to a help a woman struggling with infertility?
Nicole: I would suggest a really great cleanse and a plan. There is so much information out there it can be hard to know what to follow. I suggest working with a Nutritionist to help you design a program to guide you through this transitional point, as well as to help figure out what works best for you and your body.
LFJ: How big of a connection do you think the mind/body have and how does it play a role in infertility in your experience?
Nicole: I believe that mind and body together play a huge role when dealing with infertility. I had this one client that tried everything for years from IVF to hormone therapy. I began working with her to clean up her diet. She began by taking my detox and fertility blend. One key thing I told her was to stop worrying and start taking all of that worry and nurture yourself, love yourself and prepare your body for a baby. That is exactly what she did, and 3 weeks later became pregnant! Years of fertility treatments and what she needed to do was clean her diet up and stop worrying. This to me is proof that mind and body work together.
LFJ: What do you love most about what you do?
Nicole: I love working with women and empowering women to take control of their health. The moment when I am in a consultation and I hear a shift in a clients voice from being sad and helpless to being strong and empowered is the most gratifying moment to me. I believe we as women have so many struggles and battles we face within ourselves and I feel honored to be able to help guide women through this point of their life.
LFJ wants to thank Nicole for being such a positive light in the world of infertility and pregnancy and for sharing her words and wisdom with all our readers.
