Why we have to stay positive

BE OPEN TO THE UNIVERSE
BE OPEN TO LIFE
BE OPEN TO THE EXPERIENCE
TRUST YOUR INTUITION
HAVE FAITH

The past few days here have been insanely hot. I know it is much much warmer in other parts of the world, but I don’t do well in the super humid heat. To boot, we have no AC, so we’re trying to stay cool with fans and not a lot of clothes on. (It also might be my secret ploy to have a naked baby around, can you blame me??) Point being, this morning I woke up to the most wonderful breeze. The couple who previously owned our house had an affinity for wild raspberries, so to my surprise after coming home from traveling, the garden was BOOMING with delicious red raspberries. This morning I crawled out of bed early and went on my own little foraging adventure.

Aggie has been going through a wild growth spurt again – but this one is so different. Yes she still wants to eat constantly, but she’s moving, she’s chatting and she’s s m i l i n g all the time now. It’s like a whole new baby. She woke up early today and I was blown away with the constant movement and chit chat I heard – an hour later she fell asleep beside me and has been asleep for almost an hour and a half.

all. on. her. own. [ this never ever ever happens ]

So I guess what it left me with was this sense of wonder, of possibility and of positivity. Something that has felt a little far away as of late. In one day we can witness the most beautiful huge juicy full moon, be blessed with a baby napping and have a bowl full of raspberries on the kitchen counter.

As we head into a new month ( for us this far north, it usually means the beginning of the end of summer ) I want to keep going with my gratitude journal, to remind myself of all the small things we have to be thankful for on a daily basis.

5 THINGS I’VE LEARNED AND ACCEPTED THIS SUMMER

1. It’s okay to not be totally put together all the time – to not have my toes painted or get my hair cut, to just embrace my worn in summer loving bare feet just the way they are

2. Listening to music really loud helps to clear out the clutter in your head – sometimes we just need to let it all go and not think for a change

3. Travel, near or far, with people you love is good for your S O U L

4. The first three of months of having a baby as a new mum are some of the hardest days I’ve ever experienced – But when they smile back at you like they really know you, it genuinely makes your heart swell with pride and love

5. Just because you can do it all on your own doesn’t mean you have to – welcome help, welcome breaks, welcome small moments with people who love you, and if the people you love aren’t close by or can’t hear you, put it out to the universe, ask for their love or just simply tell them you need them – somehow believe that they can hear you
